Our Project

We are developing the old Parbold Health Club into a Community Cafe, Youth Centre and Training facility that is seeded by donations & grants then, once self sufficient, it will generate its own funds from 2 x small businesses run by the young people:

Pear Tree Community Cafe

(Now OPEN)

We have the services of a fine dining head chef who has kindly offered to run the operation - introducing a complete range of healthy foods and training the young people

PHASE 1 is NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN !

About to cut the Tape at our

OFFICIAL OPENING on 1st April 2010

Sports Boutique (Coming Soon)

We are starting small, but a need has arisen in the local village community to supply sportswear and associated sporting supplies. We are seeking to meet that need, using all profits to support the youth centre.

Helping Others

We have a desire to help other young people engage in similar projects - success looks like us being able to grant fund other start-ups and provide time, expertise and materials to help others in other communities (cities, towns, villages alike)

The name Parbold derives from "Pear Orchard"

The name "Parbold" is an Old English place name meaning "dwelling where pears grow" - hence the Pears in the logos above!

We will be holding Church Meetings on Sundays and Weekday Evenings....

Mars Hill Website

Everyone Welcome ...

Please note: The terms of our Planning Consent mean that The Cafe, Youth Centre and Shop are closed on Sundays.

We agreed the holding of church meetings with West Lancs Borough Council at the time of our original planning consent, although we will be clarifying this position should the need arise

Why are we doing it ?

  • To make a difference

  • To provide hope

  • To be involved in something larger than ourselves
